2013 Bullying Prevention Month Resources
HELP US START BULLYING PREVENTION
MONTH IN OCTOBER by showing your true
colors when it comes to bullying! If you care
about students who are bullied and want
bullying to end, make your color
ORANGE on
Unity Day, Wednesday, Oct. 9. That’s the day
everyone can link together—in schools,
communities and online—and send one large,

ORANGE
message of support for people
everywhere who are bullied.

Resources, materials and links to other events
appear throughout this page.  JOIN US in a
month-long observance that focuses on ways to
bring students together, to help them learn
about and celebrate differences and to
EDUCATE about the root causes of bullying and
how we can build cohesive school communities
that don't include bullying behavior!

MIX IT UP AT LUNCH DAY: OCTOBER 29, 2013
In surveys across the country, students have
identified the cafeteria as a place where
divisions are most clearly drawn. Each year on
MIX IT UP AT LUNCH day, we invite our local
students to move out of their comfort zones and
connect with someone new over lunch.

Link to the "Teaching Tolerance" web site via the
map at left to register your school and/or get
ideas on how to mix up your students at the lunch
tables.  It’s a simple act with profound
implications!  Click on the image "I was all mixed
up box" to print your own stickers - or
email us
(ACPS and CCS public schools only) to order
stickers for your students to wear when they
participate in Mix It Up at Lunch activities!
