Hanover County public Schools, virginia

This year, Hanover County Public Schools (HCPS) will serve over 19, 000 students in pre-K-12. One hundred percent of Hanover's schools are fully accredited according to the Virginia Standards of Learning assessments. In October 2005, HCPS earned district accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). Hanover schools have been recognized with ten National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence awards. They are: Beaverdam Elementary (twice), Cold Harbor Elementary, Cool Spring Elementary, Rural Point Elementary, South Anna Elementary, Chickahominy Middle, Liberty Middle, Stonewall Jackson Middle, and Lee-Davis High School. Hanover was the first Virginia school district to receive the U. S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award for Continuing Excellence. HCPS is the fourteenth largest of the 134 school districts in Virginia and is among the 300 largest of the 15, 500 school districts in the United States.
