The Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS) is a centralized application program for participating veterinary medical colleges.

~Announcements for 2017-2018 VMCAS application cyles~

  • Three new personal essay prompts have been added to the 2017-2018 VMCAS application. Each essay allows for 1000 characters. All essays must be answered, but we will only be reading and scoring questions 2 & 3.
  1. There are many career choices within the veterinary profession. What are your future career goals?
  2. In what ways to veterinarians contribute to society and what do you hope to contribute?
  3. Consider the breadth of society which we serve. What attributes do you believe are essential to be successful within the veterinary profession? Of these attributes, which do you possess and how have you demonstrated these in the past?
  • GRE scores are no longer required for the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and they will not be reviewed as part of your application.
  • We also no longer have a letter of recommendation requirement (if letters are included on the VMCAS application they will still be accepted and reviewed)

  • Your VMCAS ID number and the email address used on your VMCAS application.
  • Non-refundable $50.00 processing fee
  • Applicantion will not be considered complete until fee is paid

For students currently enrolled in graduate school, a letter is requested from the applicant's advisor and department head stating that if accepted into veterinary college, the applicant will have made satisfactory arrangements for completion or release from the graduate program.
